Pamela McCoy Seferian's Obituary
Pamela Ann McCoy Seferian, age 64, passed peacefully in her sleep on February 21st. She was born on August 11, 1951 at Alexandria, VA to Lawrence R. and Edna K. McCoy, who preceded her in death. On March 23, 2004 she was married to Albert Seferian, who also preceded her. She is survived by her brother Bob McCoy of Elkins, WV, cousins Jeanne Rondeau, Patricia Kelly and Bobbie Jean Hunt, her dear friend Julie Cannon and her stepchildren Mark and Laura.
Pam grew up in the Northern Virginia area except for five years spent overseas with her family in Taiwan and Germany. She graduated from Radford University in 1975 with a degree in theater and dance. After studying and working in North Carolina and Colorado, she returned to Northern Virginia to make her home.
Pam was an extremely talented graphic artist, portraitist and sketch artist; skills which served her well during her employment with the National Wildlife Federation and as a free-lance designer. She was also a very talented actress, dancer, singer, choreographer, set designer, stage manager and director. Theater was her passion. Her numerous credits read like an honor role of American theater and include stints with the Southeastern Shakespeare Company and the Stephens/Perry-Mansfield theater arts program. She loved dinner theater and community-theater and she had a long association with the Blue Ridge Alliance for the Performing Arts and the Elden Street Players among others. She was also a generous teacher and she shared her skills and knowledge with colleagues and students alike.
Pam was a gentle soul with a kind heart and generous spirit. She was always willing, indeed eager, to help someone in need. She gave of herself and her skills and resources freely and without reservation. She also opened her heart and her home to adopt, nourish and find new homes for shelter pets. This became a mission for her and, as with all other projects she gave herself fully and lovingly to its accomplishment.
Pam’s remains were cremated. Loudoun Funeral Chapel of Leesburg, VA is trusted with all arrangements. (www.loudounfuneralchapel.com) A memorial service will be announced at a future date. If you wish to honor Pam, a donation to the Friends of Homeless Animals in Aldie, VA would be her wish. (www.foha.org) The family would like to also extend our gratitude to the EMT's, medical and service personnel for their efforts on Pam's behalf.
