Partheina F. Echols' Obituary
PARTHEINA F. ECHOLS, 91, of Leesburg, Virginia died on December 19th 2013. Mrs. Echols was born December 1st 1922 in Blackstone, Virginia to the late Libert "Jack" and Fannie Epes Fowlkes. She was raised in Blackstone, VA. In 1951, she graduated from St. Paul Polytechic Institute in Lawrenceville, VA. After graduating she taught school at Watson Elementary, in Crewe, VA. After one year, Parthenia, decided to returned to Blackstone where she taught at AG Richardson Elementary for many years. In 1967 she moved to Leesburg, VA to pursue a career with Loudoun County Public Schools as a Home Economics Teacher. She retired in 1988. Mrs. Echols enjoyed cooking , spending time with family and gardening.
Mrs. Echols is survived by her beloved four siblings: Lawrence Fowlkes of NY, David Fowlkes (Gladys) of NJ, Fannie Louise Harris of Danville, VA, Essie Jackson (Eddie) NJ; numerous nieces and nephews including Joseph Fowlkes and Telly Austin Harris (Shirley) of Leesburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE in Leesburg on Thursday, December 26th 2013 from 11:00AM until 1:00PM. Funeral services will follow at 1PM with Elder Goodwin officiating. Graveside services will be held at Noon on Friday, December 27th 2013 in Green View Cemetery, Blackstone, VA.
