To Pat’s Beloved Family, I thought of Pat yesterday because October 18th was the 10th Anniversary of the Canonization of both St. Therese’ parents - Sts. Louis a Zellie Martin. Their Feastday is July 12th - and that Pat gave the funds for the icon of St. Therese, her siblings and parents, which was created after their Canonization and is hanging in the Vestibule. Thought of Pat and said a prayer for her every time I passed that icon.
Always enjoyed my conversations with her. She was very wise and spiritual about the losses that came with advanced years. One favorite fun memory had to be when she wanted to speak with me privately, but we were dealing with Covid if memory serves (?) or maybe because of the hardship it was for her to get in and out of the car and get around - so I said, call the Office when you and your daughter arrive and I’ll come out to the car under the awning. She said “Father what do we call this?” I said “Toot and tell?” 😇 which she got a great laugh from. I shooed her daughter away from the car and Pat and I spoke 🙏🏻.
God bless you all.

P.S. I retired from the Pastorate of St. Therese on July 1st. Bought a house in Palm City and am happily helping out at two local Paridhes as long as my health holds out.
