Patricia Alice Lavieri's Obituary
Patricia (Thiery) Lavieri , 74, began her next adventure on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Inova Loudon Hospital in Leesburg, VA. Surrounded by all of her children, Pat began her journey with the style and grace that she was known for.
Born in Winsted on November 23, 1939, daughter of the late Irving (Pete) and Lucienne (Tardif) Thiery, she resided in Winsted most of her life, until moving to Leesburg in 2011.
A 1958 graduate of The Gilbert School, Pat worked at the Gilbert Clock Shop and Holiday Handicrafts, but found her favorite place as Administrative Assistant in the Marketing Communications Department of The Torrington Company. She worked there for what seemed like forever, retiring at the tender age of 55!
Pat enjoyed reading, sewing, playing games on her computer (she figured they’d keep her mind sharp), gardening, and “resting her eyes”. An avid card player – she was very proud of the fact that she got a 29 hand in cribbage! As a huge Elvis fan, she enjoyed collecting memorabilia of The King!
However, Pat’s greatest passion was her family. She is survived by two sons, Thomas S. Lavieri and his wife Charlene Jacobs of Winsted, James D. Lavieri and his partner Bernadette Whitman of Winsted; two daughters, Barbara Mueller and her husband Martin of Leesburg, VA, and Kristin Roberts and her husband Jason of Northfield; Six grandchildren, Ashley Mueller of Wellington, New Zealand, Andrew Mueller of Leesburg, VA, Brett Wald of Northfield, Kyle Wald of Northfield, Alec Wald of Northfield, and Catheryne Lavieri of Winsted; One brother, Edward I. Thiery, and three sisters, Joan Jones, Barbara Sullivan, and Victoria Atkins. As well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Tom, Jim, Barb and Kris would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Inova Loudon Hospital for the care they provided not only to their mother, but to them as well.
Burial will be held in May 2014 at the convenience of the family. However, a celebration of Pat’s life will be held at the home of Jason and Kristin Roberts, 593 Northfield Road, Northfield, CT. Attendees are asked to not wear black, be ready to share a good story, and celebrate the awesomeness of Pat’s life! For further information, you can contact Kristin at 860-605-5410.
