Patrick F. Byrnes' Obituary
Patrick Frances Byrnes of Leesburg, Virginia passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 12, 2023.
Pat was born on 1/22/1957 in Washington, DC, the son of the late Glenda Thralls and Michael Howard.
Pat is survived by his loving wife, Linda Sue of 39 years, daughter Katie Rebecca Nuckolls, son Kyle Andrew Byrnes, daughter-in-law Ashley Byrnes, son-in-law Joshua Nuckolls, grandson Colt Patrick, granddaughter Emma Sue, sisters Linda Normoyle, Patti Kalamets, and brother Michael "Mickey".
Pat is proceeded in death by his mother, father, stepfather; Brad, and brother; Tommy.
Pat's passions were the Miami Hurricanes and Washington Redskins on gameday. He enjoyed playing and watching golf, playing the drums, going to the gym, watching Adam Sandler movies and sharing his "Dad jokes" with everyone. He also enjoyed catching some sun rays at the pool or taking a scenic drive with his son while listening to Styx, Journey, Rush and other classic rock bands.
As a child, his family moved from Northern VA to Coral Gables, FL before returning to Virginia where he completed high school at Herndon High.
Pat started working at smaller companies before landing his favorite job with the Loudoun County School District.
Pat met his wife Linda in 1982 and wed in 1984. They started their own family in 1983 when their daughter was born and a few years later in 1989 they had their son.
They enjoyed living in Leesburg close to family and friends then eventually retiring in 2010 and moving to Palmyra, VA.
Pat and his wife moved back to the Northern VA area in 2015 to be closer to family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you kindly make a monetary donation to a Go-Fund-Me in Pat's name to assist with funeral arrangements. Any excess will be donated to the ALS Foundation in honor of his mother.
A Celebration of Life is planned for a later time in the fall.
