We can't believe we live so far away and you are not our neighbors anymore. We're so sorry we couldn't be with you but know you were well supported. We can't think of a family more loved than yours. So handsome, talented, funny, and dedicated, Pa Willis, like Elvis, will never really die. He lives on in so many hearts. He is a part of our American history, a tribute to baseball and the smithsonian, a rock in your family and an inspiration to many others. You lost him on Pearl Harbor Day and he was buried on our son's, James, eighteenth birthday. We will never forget Ma and Pa Willis with our little Bobby 35 years ago. Life is short and time is fleeting. Some make more of it than others. His was full of love and a life worth living. How blessed we all were to have had him in our lives. To the Willis Family: We are deeply saddened by the news of Mr. Willis passing away. The first time I remember meeting Mr. Willis, I felt I had just met A Legend. This was because of all of the wonderful things my Dad had always told me about Mr. Willis, and the fun times they had together as baseball teammates. I remember immediately being impressed with how classy, yet humble, Mr. Willis was when I told him that I had always heard what a great ballplayer he had been. I have fond memories of the times we've gathered at Doug and Becky's home for a "musical feast". On some occasions we could talk Mr. Willis into singing a song.
What a wonderful man he was and how much he was loved by family and friends.

Now...he is totally healed and walking the streets of Gold!
