Pauline Kelley Bowser's Obituary
Pauline Kelley Bowser, age 86, of Hamilton, VA, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, March 30, 2024, surrounded by her adoring family.
The natural matriarch, she served as a guiding light overflowing with unconditional love, infinite wisdom, and uncanny wit. She is survived by the love of her life, Marvin Schuette Bowser; her eternally inspired and grateful children, Laurie Wagnon (Jeff), Jennifer Roadcap (Joe); her sweet sister-in-law, Maureen Kelley, her whip smart grandchildren, Joshua Bowser (Brittany), Jennifer Armstrong (Brett), Kelley Wells (John); and her precious great grandchildren, Aiden Wells, JJ Bowser, Ben Bowser, Wesley Wells and Milo Armstrong.
Pauline was born in Delta, Utah on August 1, 1937. She was a fiercely loving and devoted wife of over 65 years to her “Marvelous Marv”, who she met on a blind date in 1958 and married three months later in Salt Lake City, Utah. As a newlywed, Pauline worked as a beautician in downtown Salt Lake City. When her family grew, she left work to dedicate her time to caring for her children. She gave birth to Kelley in 1959, Laurie in 1962 and Jennifer in 1966. Pauline and Marv moved to Virginia in 1969, where they have lived ever since. Pauline worked with a select group of physicians, managing medical records, insurance, and billing. She retired when she was 62 and spent her time doing what she loved most: helping with her grandchildren, traveling with the family to sunny, warm, and beautiful locations, and traveling back to Utah to see the family that she so missed.
In addition to her parents, Hugh and Lila Kelley, she was preceded in death by her son, Kelley, her siblings Joyce Stapley, Coral Huddleston, Margaret White and James Kelley along with other beloved nieces, nephews, in-laws, family, and friends. Pauline’s parents died when she was young, and she was loved and cared for by her older siblings. They had a deep bond and a love for each other that was a model which Pauline recreated within her own family. The profound imprint that Pauline made on those around her will never be forgotten. She was loved by all who knew her.
The family will be receiving friends from 11:00AM – 12:00PM on Friday April 5th at Loudoun Funeral Chapel in Leesburg, VA with a service to follow from 12:00PM - 1:30PM. Interment will be directly after the service at Union Cemetery in Leesburg, VA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Myelodysplastic Syndromes Foundation, Inc.
