Pauline Lake Demory's Obituary
Pauline Lake Demory, 94, passed away on October 21, 2014, surrounded by her family, at
Amerisist in Stephens City.
Born December 1, 1919, in Loudoun County, VA, to the late Thomas & Helen McArtor, she
attended school and lived most of her life in Loudoun County. Pauline worked in retail for
several years in Frederick, MD. She loved being with her family and enjoyed gardening. On
June 28, 1936, she married Carroll Foley Demory in Gaithersburg, MD. In 2002 she moved to
Stephens City to be closer to her son and daughter-in-law.
She is survived by her son Robert Demory and his wife, Dixie, of Stephens City, VA; daughter,
Peggy Lunsford of Lucketts, VA; two granddaughters, Vickie McKimmey of Thurmont, MD;
Patricia Williams and her husband, Jeff, and great-grandson, Joshua Williams, all of Lucketts
VA; brother, Welby McArtor, of Florida; sister Doris Hobbs, of Maryland; and many nieces and
nephews.
Pauline was preceded in death by three sisters, Anna Boise, Mary Thacker, Louise Musselman,
and two brothers, Thomas (Gene) McArtor and Walter (Mac) McArtor, and Foley, her husband
of 62 years.
A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m., October 24, 2014 at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel,
158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA. The Rev. Mike Mayton will be officiating. Relatives
and friends were received starting at 10:00 a.m. Interment was at Lovettsville Union
Cemetery.
