Paul W. Johnson's Obituary
Paul Wayne Johnson, 71, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2011, at Loudoun Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after visiting with his loved ones. Paul was born on October 10, 1939 to Paul Alfert and Virginia Paige Sturgess Johnson in Baltimore, Maryland. He grew up in the home his father built at 110 First Avenue in Glen Burnie, Maryland.
Paul is survived by his ex-wife, Virginia Johnson of Reston, VA; four children: Paul Gregory Johnson, of Ashburn, VA; Gwen Davis of Ashburn, VA; Janice Hansan of Bethesda, Maryland; Barry Johnson of Reston, VA; and thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Paul attended both the University of Maryland, and Baltimore Institute, the latter of which asked him to remain on as a computer-programming instructor. He also worked at the Olin Matheson Chemical Corporation and Honeywell Inc., both companies being located in Baltimore City. Honeywell transferred him to Arlington, Virginia in 1963. The family moved to Vienna in 1969. In the 1980’s, Paul owned and operated the Sport Spot in Sterling, VA. Paul enjoyed tennis, golf, and cheering on his children’s sports endeavors.
