The Philip M. Crane Family
Dear Friends:
I am writing to extend my deepest sympathies on the loss of your father, brother, grandfather, dear friend and one of our nation’s dedicated public servants. Phil’s commitment to conservative causes came at an important time in our nation’s history when the voice of opposition needed to be strong and principled. Some of the key positions that he took in the 1960s have now come to be mainstream today, especially regarding trade and tariff issues regarding Africa and China. I also appreciated his zest and love for the give and take of the political arena. As you well know, his work on behalf of conservative issues was such that it will remain one of the significant turning points in American history.
There is little I can say to ease the pain of your loss right now. May your faith, and the great outpouring of love from family and dear friends help you through this trying time. You can take comfort in knowing that Phil’s memory will live forever among all those who knew and loved him.
Sincerely,
