Pio Millona Cular's Obituary
Pio Millona Cular, 85, passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021 due to complications of chronic heart failure and diabetes. He was born on February 5, 1936 in Leyte, Philippines, to Pio and Simplicia Cular. He was the younger brother to Marcela (Cular) Marquez and Luciana (Cular) Escalona.
Pio was better known as Jun Cular to his family and friends. After graduating with degrees in Commerce and Law, Jun was an auditor for the Philippine National Bank before immigrating to the United States in 1968 in hopes of a better life.
He met the love of his life, Joji, in Washington, D.C. and they were married for 35+ years. She preceded him in death in 2005. Jun was a Certified Public Accountant and spent 20+ years working for the Federal Government. He was proud of his work and was highly recognized for his accomplishments. In 1998, he retired from the Department of Justice, DEA, to spend more time with his family and friends. He spent his retirement years in Ashburn, VA, close to his family.
Jun always had a smile on his face, a witty joke in mind, and a helping hand available. He was a devout Catholic and a family man. Jun had a penchant for learning and was always reading. In addition, he enjoyed bowling with his friends and he loved gardening. Family and friends will remember his generous heart, his love for laughter, his endless inspirational quotes, and his terrible puns. He was a hero to his children and he always told them to dream big. He told them to always, always choose hope!
Jun was the loving father of Grace (Roger) Yee and Alex (Angie). He was the loving brother of Tellie Acal and the cherished Lolo of Paris Rose and Emerson Jorgia. He was also a loving uncle, tatay, godfather, manong, kuya, and friend to extended family members and loved ones in the US, Canada, and the Philippines.

Jun believed in supporting the church and the community. He generously donated to the local Fire & Rescue/First Responders. They were his heroes because they would rush to those in dire need. When our family needed them, Loudoun County Fire and Rescue was there to help us. In lieu of flowers, we ask you to donate to your local Fire & Rescue/First Responders in Jun’s honor.
Online condolences may be made to the family at www.loudounfuneralchapel.com
