PoP,Robert Edwin Donohoe's Obituary
ROBERT EDWIN “POP” DONOHOE, 97, a lifelong resident of Loudoun County, VA died on Monday May 21st 2012 in Leesburg. Mr. Donohoe was born February 20th 1915 in Loudoun County to the late William E. and Carrie Compher Donohoe. Two children, John C. Donohoe, Dianne Rhodes and four siblings, Marvin, Lewis, Fannie and John predeceased him and in 1995 his wife Edna C. Donohoe also predeceased him. Mr. Donohoe was a hardworking man that worked into his early 80's. He worked on the family farm until the 1960’s when he pursued work with McCann Plumbing which became F&L Plumbing. Mr. Donohoe was a kind and generous man with a great love for family and especially his grandchildren that he would create catchy nick names for. He also had a passion for gardening that would keep those around him stocked during the season.
Mr. Donohoe is survived by his three children: Robert E. Donohoe, Jr. (Barbara) of Fredericksburg, VA, William D. Donohoe (Ginny) of Hamilton, VA, Vicki Sue Cole (Dave) Indianapolis, IN; thirteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE in Leesburg from noon until time of services at 1:00PM with Rev. David DeBose officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, VA.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 124 Park Street, SE, Vienna, VA 22180.
