Quantez Montoya Wright's Obituary
Quantez Montoya Wright made his transition to glory on April 13, 2022 at the age of 54. He was born on August 6, 1967 in Suffolk, VA to James Wright, Jr. (deceased) and Gloria Green Wright. Quantez spent his formative years in Suffolk and Portsmouth, VA.
At an early age, Quantez was baptized at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Portsmouth, VA. He graduated from Manor High School in June 1985 before entering the United States Navy. Quantez retired in November 2013 as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. While in the Navy, he traveled extensively to Japan, Iceland, and Afghanistan (two tours).
After retiring from the United States Navy, Quantez worked as a Security Supervisor at First Coast Security (FCS) Services for seven years. He was an amazing supervisor who cared about his team and always made sure his work was pristine. He was so good at his job that he set a standard for how information should be relayed to the client. He touched many hearts and everyone he worked with called him “Uncle.” “FCS and the client were deeply impacted by his sudden passing. We will all miss him more than words can express.”
Quantez met Elsa Enriquez while working together at a telecommunications firm. They were married in July 1998 and were blessed with one son born in April 2000, Giovanni Valentino Wright, who will be graduating next month magna cum laude as a medical school candidate from George Mason University.
According to Elsa, Quantez loved his country and sacrificed his life for his country. He was a devoted husband and father and doted on his son. He also took pride in mentorship and viewed mentorship as a moral obligation.
Quantez is survived by his loving mother, Gloria G. Wright (Suffolk, VA); his loving and devoted wife, Elsa Wright (Chantilly, VA); his son, Giovanni V. Wright (Chantilly, VA); his daughter, Lauren Moet Chambray Wright (Virginia Beach, VA); two grandchildren, Nehemiah Ahmir White and Ivey Storm White (Virginia Beach, VA); two half-siblings, Tony Wright (Portsmouth, VA) and Dana Wright Steward (Moncks, SC); an aunt, Barbara S. Green (Suffolk, VA); great uncle and great aunt, Thomas and Gertrude Johnson (Baltimore, MD); mother and step-father in law, Jorge Balseca and Laura Enriquez (Manassas, VA); one brother and sister in law, Wilson Logrono and Dr. Veronica Enriquez (Chantilly, VA); two nephews, Daniel and Anthony Logrono (Chantilly, VA) and a host of cousins and friends.
