Quincy Thomas Bridges' Obituary
QUINCY THOMAS BRIDGES, 81, of Leesburg, Virginia since 1970, died on Saturday August 30th, 2008. Mr. Bridges was born July 8, 1927 in Fireco, West Virginia to the late James Sterling and Lucy Zella Gore Bridges. While serving his country in the U.S. Army, he was stationed in Vienna, Austria post WWII and was a pitcher on the U.S. Army all-star baseball team in Europe. Mr. Bridges was a self-employed business man most of his life. His first job was as a union printer with Judd & Detwiler Printing, Washington, D.C. He was the owner/operator of the Dinner Bell Restaurant in Fairfax, VA and Bridges Drywall in Leesburg, VA. An active member of the Leesburg Lions Club and American Legion Post 0181, he enjoyed all outdoor activities especially hunting, fishing and golf.
Mr. Bridges is survived by his beloved bride of 60 years, Helene Theresia of Leesburg; four children: Charlotte Duvall of Haymarket, VA; Erika Martin of Buford, GA; Quincy Victor Bridges and spouse, Diana of Leesburg; and Melissa Cross and spouse, Joe, of Hamilton, VA; four sisters: Mary Helen Powell of Iowa Park, TX; Wanda Slye of Belton, TX; Patty McLane of Fairfax, VA; and Jackie Fletcher of Falls Church, VA; 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE Leesburg, VA on Wednesday September 3, 2008 from 7-9pm. Services will be held on Thursday at 10am at the Worship Center Assembly of God, 19227 Gleedsville Road, Leesburg with Pastor Joseph Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas, VA.
