Ralph W. Moore's Obituary
Ralph W. Moore, 86, of Sterling, VA, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014.
Born on May 28, 1928 in Carrol County, Maryland he was the son of the late Aubrey L. Moore and the late Addie P. Boone. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Lois Moore; sisters, Audrey Thorpe, Margaret Kennedy, Ethel Beilstein, Eva Wood, Mary Davis and Edna McGrath; and brothers, Horrace Moore and Russell Moore.
While serving his country in the US Navy, Ralph was a member of Admiral Byrd’s operation high jump to Antarctica. He was a volunteer fireman for the District Heights Fire Department and retired as an electrician from IBEW Local 26 in 1990. He had just received his 50 year pin from the Camp Springs Masonic Lodge and was a member of the Almas Temple Shriners. He volunteered at the Navy Memorial and was a charter member of the Fort Washington HOG group.
He is survived by his daughter Deborah and her husband, Paul of Purcellville; grandson, Joshua Vincill and his wife, Sara of Bristow, VA; great-grandson, Tyler James Vincill; sister, Alice Schank; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, June 27, 2014 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel.
