RALPH ALTON WENTZEL JR. ,66, a private pilot of Leesburg, VA, died suddenly on Thursday April 27, 2006 in Leesburg, VA
Mr. Wentzel is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years Gabriela Wentzel of Leesburg, VA; daughter: Kirstin Wentzel of Utopia, Texas; son: Erik and wife Julie Wentzel of Millersville, MD; brother: Arleigh D. and wife Mary Ann Wentzel of Alexandria, VA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr. S.E. Leesburg, VA on Sunday April 30, 2006 from 2-4pm. Funeral services will take place on Monday May 1, 2006, 11;00am at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, VA.
Mr. Wentzel was born October 9, 1939 in Washington, DC to the late Ralph A. and Ellen Danner Wentzel. He served his country in the U.S. Airforce overseas in Northern Germany and upon discharge in 1968 moved to Loudoun County with his wife Gabriela. Mr. Wentzel worked in the Telecommunications field as a program manager with AT&T and then Lucent Technologies until retiring in 2000. He was a classic car enthusiast and a private pilot, presently operating his Zuni glider and in the process of building a power plain known as a Rans Courier S-7. Mr. Wentzel was a member of AOPA- Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association and SSA- Soaring Society of America.
