Ralph Eugene Stanley's Obituary
Ralph Eugene Stanley, 88, of Leesburg, VA, passed away at home on December 1, 2008.
He was born in Muncie, IN, on December 27, 1919, the son of the late Terrell and Clara Arnold Stanley. He graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1936 where he majored in Business Education.
After working for the Warner Gear Division of the Borg Warner Corporation for 25 years, he retired from there and moved to Florida where he went to work for the Maas Brothers Department Store in Tampa.
Leaving there, he purchased and managed a Mobile Home Service near Zephyrhills, FL.
He went on from there to making custom cabinets and then on to working for a security firm.
In 1980, he moved to Leesburg, VA, and went to work for the Firestone Estate as a security guard; the home of Genuine Risk, a famous, a famous racehorse. He worked there until he retired in 1986.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth E. Stanley; a daughter, Elizabeth and her husband Curt Callaham, a grandson, Matthew all of Leesburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 5, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, VA, with Rev. Bill Lee officiating.
