Raquel (Rocky) Elardo's Obituary
Raquel Rhiannon Elardo, 18, of Leesburg, VA, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024 at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on March 2, 2005 in Reston Virginia, Rocky was the daughter of Christopher Elardo and Christine Pasquarelli, and the sister of Gianna Elardo. Rocky was preceded in death by her grandfathers Donald Elardo and Vincent Pasquarelli.
In addition to her parents and sister, Rocky is survived by Ron Humphrey (step father), grandmothers June Elardo and Phyllis Pasquarelli and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Rocky loved her pet dogs Mollie, Winnie, Spartan and Finley, and pet cats Daisy, Sugar, Cleo and Fiona.
Rocky was a member of the Heritage High School Girls Varsity Basketball Team for 4 years, and the Girls Varsity Tennis Team for a year. She was a Heritage Freshmen Girls Basketball Student Coach in 2022-23. She was also a member of the National Honor Society. Rocky volunteered for 5 years with Central Loudoun Basketball as a coach and was awarded their Chopivsky Scholarship in 2023. Rocky worked as a counselor at Evergreen Sports Complex during her summer breaks. Rocky was the Principal’s PRIDE Award Recipient for 2023, which was selected from her graduating class by Principal Adam as someone who reflects the strength and character that is valued at Heritage. She graduated as an Early College Scholar with an Advanced Studies Diploma with a 4.43 Cumulative GPA. Rocky walked at graduation with the Academic Excellence Medal, recognizing her outstanding achievement. She was chosen for her tremendous impact on the Heritage Pride Community and for her strength and character that made her a role model for her classmates. Rocky was also a member of DECA, Latin Club and Math Honor Society and volunteered with the American Cancer Society.
Rocky enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, loved the beach, geese, sunflowers and sunsets and spending time with her boyfriend Ryan. She had a diverse taste in music, including her fav, Taylor Swift.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Thursday, February 16, 2024 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cir. SE, Leesburg, VA 20175.
The family will also be receiving friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at St Johns Catholic Church with a Mass immediately following at 1:30PM on Friday, February 17, 2024 at St John the Apostle Catholic Church with Father Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at St John the Apostle Cemetery, 101 Oakcrest Manor Drive NE, Leesburg, VA 20176.
