Raymond Allen Powell, Sr., 68 of Leesburg, VA died on Wednesday, September 16, 2009, at Loudoun Hospital / Cornwall Unit in Leesburg, VA.
He was born Monday, March 31, 1941 in Leesburg, VA. He was the son of the late Charles Cleveland Powell and Hilda Marie Downs Powell of Haymarket, VA.
Mr. Powell served his country in the National Guard. He worked for many years as a Meat Cutter for the Village Market in Hamilton, and the IGA in Purcellville.
He recently retired from Loudoun County Public Schools as a Custodian at Aldie Elementary.
In addition to his Mom, he is survived by his son, Raymond Allen Powell, Jr. of Leesburg, VA, daughter, Debbie Powell Frye of Purcellville, VA, his sister, Sandra Kay Powell of Haymarket and 1 granddaughter, Meghan Frye.
He was predeceased by his brother Charles Lester Powell.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, September 20, 2009, at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, Virginia.
A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday at Loudoun Funeral Chapel located at 158 Catoctin Circle, SE Leesburg, VA 20175. Interment will follow in Lovettsville Union Cemetery, Lovettsville, VA.
