Raymond Gilbert Moffett's Obituary
Raymond Gilbert Moffett, 90, of Elkton, MD, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2011. He was born February 15, 1921 in Washington D.C. He was the son of the late Harvey and Margaret Blinco Moffett.
He was the husband of the late Thelma Gene Frame whom he married on May 1, 1947. Mr. Moffett served as a lieutenant in the Army Air Corps during WWII flying B25s over Italy and pursued a career as a commercial airline pilot for Capital and United Airlines for 29 years. Over the years he resided in Washington, D.C., Oxon Hill, MD, Lovettsville, VA, Elkton, MD, and Barefoot Bay, FL and enjoyed spending his free time metalworking, woodworking, and fishing in the warm Florida sun.
Mr. Moffett is survived by his son Robert Moffett and his wife Janet of Landenberg, PA; two grandchildren, Erin and Garrett; and a brother, Frederick Moffett of Oxon Hill, MD.
Friends may call on Saturday November 12, 2011 at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE in Leesburg, VA from 10:00am until time of services at 11:00am.
Interment will follow in Leesburg Union Cemetery, Leesburg, VA.
