Reena Chharia's Obituary
Reena Chharia, a native of New Delhi, India and long-time resident of Purcellville, Virginia, passed away on March 17, 2022, at age 51 after a courageous but too-short battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her father Parduman Kumar Jain. Surviving is her loving husband of 29 years, Ashwini Chharia; mother Trishla Jain; mother-in law Pushpa Chharia; brother Sanjay Jain; daughter Suchita Chharia; son Varun Chharia; cat (and not-so-secret favorite daughter) Boo; and many other loving family members. Reena had a passion for traveling, shown by the 15+ countries she’d traveled to, and enjoyed nothing more than researching and planning family-friendly trips. When she wasn’t busy serving as a pseudo travel agent, she proudly worked on growing her small business, Sanskriti Collections, by selling Indian jewelry locally. Reena also had a love for plants; as a child she would collect and preserve flowers and most recently she enjoyed tending to her new indoor peppers and tomato plants. This also connected with her love for cooking. Appreciated by her family, she enjoyed experimenting with new recipes and making food of varying cuisines, including what could be an award-winning pizza recipe. One of her proudest accomplishments was the family she raised. As a primarily stay-at-home mother for much of her life, she put her heart and soul into raising her two children and supporting her husband. Her laugh, humor, hospitability, and caringness will never be forgotten. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 22 at 1pm at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel & Crematory in Leesburg, Virginia. A live-stream of the event can be found here, https://fb.me/e/1rkWlTSuI. Guests are requested to refrain from wearing black per Indian funeral custom. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sankara Eye Foundation, a cause Reena cared deeply about.
