Regina Ambers' Obituary
Regina Ambers, affectionately known as Jean, Granny, Nanny, and Momma, was born on May 10, 1929, in Waterford, Virginia. A proud lifelong resident of Loudoun County, Regina attended Waterford School in her early years and later Douglass High School in Leesburg, Virginia. She built a life grounded in unwavering faith, deep love, and a steadfast devotion to her family.
Regina dedicated her life to caring for others. She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband of more than 60 years, Herman F. Ambers, with whom she shared a beautiful life in Paeonian Springs, Virginia. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, strength, and unwavering commitment.
Above all, Regina was a nurturing and selfless mother and grandmother who devoted her life to raising her children and uplifting her family. Her love and compassion extended beyond her home as she faithfully served the Godfrey family in Beacon Hill, where she was admired for her kindness, dedication, and gentle spirit.
Regina’s life was a testament to quiet strength, grace, and unconditional love. She found joy in caring for those around her and left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Regina was preceded in death by her husband, Herman F. Ambers; her sister, Mamie Walton; her brother, Leroy Davis; and her aunts, Mae Smith and Ruth Wells.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Vince Ambers (Carol) of Ashburn, Virginia, and Jacquelyn Ambers-Martin (Larry) of Sterling, Virginia; a very special honorary son, Michael Smith; four grandchildren, Ashlee, Jarret, Justis, and Lexis; and six great-grandchildren, Zhaye, Cheveyo, Julius, Beau, Harlem, and Anu. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
On March 11, 2026, Regina peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord at Inova Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family and the legacy of a life well lived.
She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
