Reginald V. Sanbower, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Reginald Vernon Sanbower, Sr. 86, of Lovettsville, died Thursday, July 30, 2009 at home.
He was the husband of Vivian Katherine Smith Sanbower, who preceded him in death on September 17, 1997. They had been married for forty-five years.
Born on July 10, 1923 near Lovettsville he was the son of the late Verna Eli and Bessie Everhart Sanbower. He lived his entire life near Lovettsville, graduating from Lovettsville High School.
Mr. Sanbower was hired by the Frederick Coca-Cola Bottling Co. on January 3, 1952 and retired on November 1, 1987. While there, he mainly worked in advertising and on special events. He especially enjoyed working at local county fairs serving Coke products. He was also a life long farmer who never tired of working on the back-forty.
He was a member of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church where he served on the church council.
He is survivived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Reginald V. and Shirley Sanbower, Jr., Donnie L. and Debbie Sanbower, and one daughter Rebecca A. Sanbower, all of Lovettsville.
Also surviving him are four grandchildren Jeff Sanbower, Justin Sanbower, Kristin Bodmer and husband Josh, and Erin Spinks and husband Nathan; two great grandchildren Kyleigh Sanbower and Cody Bodmer, one sister Catherine E. Pfeifer, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death, by one grandson, Timothy V. Sanbower in 1997 and a brother. H. Atlee Sanbower in 2006.
Friends may call on Sunday, August 2, 2009 from 3 to 6 pm at Brown/Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 34 East Broad Way, Lovettsville, VA 20180.
Funeral services will follow on Monday, August 3, 2009 at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Lovettsville Union Cemetery.
