Richard Douglas Albright's Obituary
RICHARD D. ALBRIGHT
Richard D. Albright, a loving father and devoted husband, departed this world on April 12 at age 57. A resident of Ashburn, VA, Richard led a life rich in friends and contributions to all he touched. Born May 9, 1958, in Larchmont, NY, he was an Eagle Scout, a graduate of Langley High School, and earned both a civil engineering degree and MBA from Virginia Tech. Richard enjoyed great professional success, working most recently at Scitor after previous employment at Northrop Grumman and TASC. His work on the space station and national security space programs of high importance to the United States took him across the globe, including assignments in Australia and England. A gifted competitor, Richard excelled at all sports he put his hand to, including years playing top level rugby, whipping opponents in tennis and golf, and coaching youth volleyball. Richard’s great joy was focusing his competitive spirit in working with his beloved daughter on sports and all aspects of life. Always positive and never missing an opportunity to do things for and with others, Richard was a model of squeezing the most from life. He made us all better people and leaves us with a treasury of memories of his boundless energy and generosity. He is survived by wife Jennifer Caswell Albright, daughter Brenna, sister Kathryn Hardesty and her husband Richard and their daughters Claire and Carrie, and her fiancée Matt.
