I am so sorry I am late sending this but being retired I am not in the loop as I should be. He will be missed but all linemen the knew and worked with Ricky.

Dear Reeves Family,
I want to send my deepest sympathies to you and your relatives. It is a very sad and painful thing to lose someone you love in death.
I would like to share the hope that I found in God's word from Acts 25:15: "And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection." God promises that we will see our loved ones again in a better world, when his Kingdom rules.
I hope this thought will add to the encouragement you no doubt receive from your many friends.

I was unable to speak at the service the other day, I just couldn't get the words out. So, I'll say a few now. Back in 1963, at the old Leesburg Elementary School, I met two guys who, to this day, are still two of my best friends. Ricky is one of them. Some people seem to think that having a best friend for so long, 51 years, is kind of unusual. I just consider myself very lucky. Ricky was a great husband and father, a great son and brother, and a great friend, and brother, to me. I'm going to miss you Rick! HTTR !!

I just now found out about Ricky and I am so, so sorry. He was a tremendous individual who will be remembered for his character, integrity and caring nature -- Husband, father and friend. While he will be missed here with us on earth, I know he is now the best of the best of the angels above.
Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Love you guys so very much. Feel the hugs.
Love, Maggie
Sorry to hear of Ricky's passing. I hadn't seen or talked with him in years, but I used to be one of his helpers when he was a lineman in Leesburg as well as growing up with him. I remember one day on a whim we raced a 50 yard dash at lunchtime in construction boots, I'm sure it was quite a site, but he always loved a good laugh, and I'm sure I gave him one that day...God Bless old friend. Family was the most important part of Ricky’s life. He and Debbie have been married for almost 34 years and had a very strong close relationship. He was always involved in Jillian and Jordan’s lives, whether it was school, sports, work or any interests they had. Ricky did not grow up being a pet lover, but he became one through his family’s love of pets, especially dogs.
His family life was not restricted to his immediate family. He was very close to his parents and siblings. All holidays and celebrations always included parents, brothers and sister, nieces and nephews. He never missed our mother’s yearly Pennsylvania family reunions or Dad’s occasional reunions. Grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins were part of his family.
Dominion Virginia Power was how he provided for his family. He was a loyal employee for almost 40 years. He started at the bottom of the ladder as a groundsman and worked his way up to a management position. He loved his job and developed long term relationships with many of the people he worked with over the years.
He was a devoted Redskin fan his entire life, through the good and bad. We enjoyed many games together and discussions on what the Redskins should do or not do to become consistent winners. Ricky had brain surgery just before the 2012 NFL season which was RGIII’s rookie season. The doctors told Ricky that he could lose some short term memory from the surgery. Ricky asked me “What if when I wake up I do not know who RGIII is?” After he came out of surgery, I asked him “Who is RGIII?” He could hardly speak, but he said “The redskin savior”. Well, he was right for one year.
Ricky was very handy and enjoyed fixing and restoring things. His first big project was a 1959 Mercedes sports coupe similar to our grandfathers. Ricky also restored a coke machine, gas pump and numerous juke boxes. It was fun for him to try to bring old things back to looking new.
Ricky was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer shortly after he and Debbie decided to move to Richmond and had started to build their dream home. They found the land and house plan that was going to be their retirement paradise. Through operations, chemotherapy and radiation treatments, Ricky fought his disease. Debbie was always by his side and was an unbelievable nurse, caregiver and partner. Jillian broke away from her seven day a week obligations in her pet business to visit as much as possible. Jordan left his obligation with the Peace Corps in Mongolia to be with his father as much as possible. When Ricky left this life on the first morning of Spring 2014, Debbie, Jillian and Jordan was by his side.
He will be missed by many
