Richard H. Roberts' Obituary
Richard H. Roberts, 84 of Leesburg, Virginia died on Sunday, July 18, 2010, at Heritage Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation, in Leesburg, VA.
Born Friday, March 5, 1926 in Leesburg, Virginia, he was the son of the late Edward Theodore Roberts and the late Irene Taylor Roberts. He was the husband of the late Alma Roberts, who predeceased in him in 2002.
Richard served his country in the U.S. Army, as Corporal, from 1946 until 1949.
Mr. Roberts was a Groomsman by trade, employed by White Oaks Farm, of Leesburg. He took care of S.H. Roger’s horses for 57 years.
Surviving are daughter, Connie Carter of Ashburn, VA, brothers, Edward "Pete" Roberts of Leesburg, VA, Alec Roberts of Temple Hills, VA, James Roberts of Leesburg, VA, Rev. Charles Roberts of Leesburg, VA and Thomas Roberts of Frederick, MD, sister, Mary Lee Perry of Leesburg, VA; 1 granddaughter, Lori “LoLo” Carter of Ashburn, and 1 great grand son Kevin D. Ryan of Ashburn.
He was also survived by many nieces and nephews including three he raised; Kenneth, Maria and Jerome Braxton; and other family and friends.
A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday at Loudoun Funeral Chapel located at 158 Catoctin Circle, SE Leesburg, VA 20175 with the Rev. Melbourne Bailey officiating.
Interment will be in Mt. Zion Community Cemetery, Leesburg, VA.
