Robert (Bobby) L. Grooms' Obituary
Robert “Bobby” L. Grooms was born February 11, 1961 in Leesburg, VA to the late Thomas F. and Lillian J. Grooms. He was known and preferred to be called Bobby. Bobby passed away suddenly at Fairfax INOVA Hospital in Fairfax, VA on June 30, 2024.
Bobby was educated by Loudoun County Public School System and received his GED.
Bobby worked for several employers over the years with his last employer being CarQuest Auto parts as a Delivery Driver. His passion was operating Heavy Duty Equipment. He loved digging, grading, and dozing dirt from “Sunup to Sundown”.
As many of you know, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends sharing tall tales, tinkering on all kinds of vehicles especially his pride and joy Jeep “FRED”. He also enjoyed watching Walking Dead, Two and Half Men and Yellowstone which he was excited about the new episodes coming this fall. Lastly Bobby had two old cell phones that did not work, somehow, he attached the two phones together and “Voila” made a working phone that he used for several months.
Bobby was preceded in death by his Parents and Grandparents: Jefferson and Lettie Jackson and William (Willie) and Allene Carey.
Bobby leaves to cherish his memory his Sisters: Rosemary Moten and Judith Grooms. Brother: David Grooms. Nieces: Andrea Grooms, Atina Moten, Tamara Smith (Nathan) and Melana Grooms. Nephews: Anthony Grooms (Linda), Samuel Moten and David Grooms Jr. Great Nieces: Jayla Grooms, Lillian Grooms, Viktoria Grooms and Naomi Grooms. Great Nephews: Jordan Grooms (Ashley), Isaac and Edward Smith and a host of relatives and friends.
Bobby is gone but will never be forgotten. He will be missed by everyone who loved and knew him.
