Robert Charles Heyde's Obituary
On Wednesday, September 11, 2019, Robert “Bob” Charles Heyde, loving husband and father of four children passed away at the age of 90.
Robert was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on September 23, 1928 to Herman and Augusta Heyde.
Robert joined the Navy out of High School in 1946. He was an alternate to the Naval Academy in Annapolis and served for 22 years, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant.
During his service he was stationed with his family in Key West, Florida, Londonderry, Northern Ireland, Paris, France and Stuttgart, Germany before retiring in Vienna, Virginia.
On April 16, 1949 he married Marilyn Landis. They raised two daughters, Laura and Linda and two sons, Robert, Jr. and Daniel.
Robert will be remembered for his great sense of humor and colorful stories as well as his passion for baseball and fishing which he enjoyed whenever he could.
He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Lions Club.
Robert was preceded in death by Marilyn, his wife of 55 years. He is survived by his four children, Laura Stout of Asheboro, North Carolina, Linda Kendall of Round Hill, Virginia, Robert Heyde, Jr. of Reston, Virginia and Daniel Heyde of Centreville, Virginia. His Grandchildren, Stacy Stout of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Beth Davidson, of Asheboro, North Carolina, Mariah Wohlfeil of Round Hill, Virginia, Dylan Kendall of Gainesville, Virginia, Nathan Heyde of Centreville, Virginia and Ryan Heyde of Centreville, Virginia. His Great Grandchildren, Olivia LaVack of New York City, New York, Evan LaVack of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Landis Davidson of Asheboro, North Carolina, Samuel Davidson of North Carolina, Vivian Wohlfeil of Round Hill, Virginia, John Wohlfeil of Round Hill, Virginia and Jake Wohlfeil of Round Hill, Virginia.
A funeral service in his honor will be held at Arlington Cemetery at a later date.
