Rodney Alan Smith's Obituary
Mr. Rodney Alan Smith, age 45, of Sterling, VA, died Saturday, December 26, 2009, at Leewood Health Center in Annandale, VA. A life long resident of Loudoun, Rodney was born on November 12, 1964 in Falls Church, VA. He was one of three sons of Ernest W. Smith, Jr. and Betty Poland Smith of Sterling.
Rodney was a graduate of Broad Run High School in 1983. He was a cabinetmaker and newspaper distributor for the Washington Post. He was a true outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. Taxidermy was also a hobby of his.
In addition to his parents he is also survived by his daughter, Shannon; two Brothers: Gordon Smith and sister-in-law: Connie of Purcellville, VA, and Michael Smith and sister-in-law: Lisa of Leesburg, VA. Rodney is also survived by 3 nephews, 1 niece, 2 great nieces, 1 great nephew, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.
Arrangements are being handled by Loudoun Funeral Chapels, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE, Leesburg, VA; where friends may call on Wednesday, from 10 am until 11am. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, Rev. Randy Duncan officiating.
Interment will be at Leesburg Union Cemetery, Leesburg, VA.
