Rogelio Oca Velasco's Obituary
ROGELIO OCA VELASCO, 76 of Aldie, Virginia peacefully passed on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, in the midst of his family’s prayer. Rogelio was born on Wednesday, February 20, 1946, in Abra, Philippines.
As a young man, Rogelio received his BS in Commerce from Jose Rizal University (formerly known as Jose Rizal College). He was a quiet but hardworking person with several careers. He worked in the medical field as a Radiology Technician; then worked in banking as a bookkeeper in the Philippines. In 1989, the family moved to the US and settled in the Baltimore area. Mr. Velasco worked as a medical coder and then was self-employed as a certified and licensed tax preparer.
He enjoyed generously providing for his family, listening to music, singing karaoke, watching movies, caring for his pets, and enjoying tech gadgets with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Eugenia “Gina” Velasco; son, Roger Stephen Velasco, and daughter in law, Rina; and three grandchildren, Karina, Stevie, and Alexa; a sister, Flor.
A funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church located at 41685 Corpus Christi Drive, Aldie, VA 20105.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Corpus Christi Catholic Church Chantilly, VA 20152.
