Ronald Westley Bates' Obituary
Ronald Westley Bates, 57, a lifelong resident of Loudoun County died on Thursday, December 6th 2012 in Front Royal, Virginia. Mr. Bates was born September 17th 1956 in Brunswick, MD, a son of the late Peggy Joan Hite Bates and Edward F. Bates.
He grew up in Lucketts, Virginia and attended Loudoun County Schools. Ronnie volunteered with the Lucketts Fire Company for many years and then served with the Loudoun Volunteer Rescue Squad in Leesburg from 1992-2005. He worked for Leo Construction until 2008. He received his EMT certification while serving with the Rescue Squad. He volunteered as a bell ringer with the Salvation Army at Christmas time. Ronnie enjoyed joking around with everyone and with his personality he never met a stranger. He enjoyed a good meal and had been known to sing at Karaoke. Ronnie was a proud member of AA with over 30 years of sobriety. He was loved by many and will be missed dearly.
In addition to his father, Mr. Bates is survived by his beloved five brothers, two sisters, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ronnie was predeceased by his mother and his eldest brother Kenneth.
Friends may call on Wednesday, December 12th 2012 from 4 until time of services at 6:00 PM at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel in Leesburg. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE, Leesburg, VA 20175 to help defray expenses.
