Ronald Michael Hoover's Obituary
Ronald (“Ronnie”) Michael Hoover, 59, of Winchester, VA, quietly passed away on March 21, 2023, at his home in Winchester, VA.
Ronnie was born on July 24, 1963, in Fairfax, VA to the late Ronald Lewis Hoover and Dorothy Pearl Fallen Hoover.
Preceded in death by his late wife, Tami Lynn Hoover, who passed in 1996, Ronnie is survived by their son, Ronald Daniel Hoover of Flint Hill, VA. He is also survived by his mother, Dorothy Pearl Fallen Hoover and his younger sister, Wendy Ann Hoover of Sterling, VA, his younger sister Melinda Mae Greene of Leesburg, VA and his older brother, Randy Craig Hoover of Winchester, VA.
Ronnie is also survived by three young grandchildren as well as one niece and three nephews, all of whom reside in Virginia.
Ronnie attended Sterling Elementary School and Sterling Middle School in Sterling Park, VA. He graduated high school in 1981 from Broad Run High School in Ashburn, VA. In the fall of 1981, he was enrolled at Ferrum College in Ferrum, VA for two semesters in 1981/1982.
Ronnie met Tami Lynn Carr in 1985, and their son Ronald Daniel was born in November 1986. They resided in Sterling until Tami’s passing in 1996.
Ronnie was employed as an automobile mechanic and technician and worked for several well known and trusted dealerships and repair shops in Fairfax, Herndon and Leesburg, VA. He could diagnose and repair pretty much any make or model of vehicle.
In 1999, following his employment in the automotive repair field, Ronnie started working with his mother and father at their antiques business near Lucketts, VA called “My Wits End”. There, he assisted with many tasks including going to auctions and estate sales with his dad Ron, helping to maintain inventory at their very successful business. Throughout the 21 years that the business flourished, Ronnie and his parents became very well known in the Loudoun and surrounding areas for their friendly personalities and knowledge of antiques. This resulted in them having created many long-lasting friendships.
It was during this time that Ronnie relocated his home to Winchester, VA. When he was not working at the family antiques business, Ronnie enjoyed his hobbies of scale model railroads and reading his extensive collection of military and historical war themed books.
Per Ronnie’s wishes, his body will be cremated. No official service will be held. His cremation will be performed by Loudoun Funeral Chapel and Crematorium in Leesburg, VA.
His family will plan a life celebration in honor of Ronnie later in 2023 (an exact date and location of which has yet to be determined) to allow his family and friends to share in remembering his life on this earth.
