Ronald Walter Leetch's Obituary
Ronald Walter Leetch was born on July 27, 1932, in Newburgh, New York. Ron passed away peacefully on April 7, 2024, in Leesburg, Virginia.
Ron spent his childhood years living in Montgomery, New York. Following graduation from Wallkill Central School June 26, 1950, his college career was interrupted when he decided to enlist in the United States Navy during the Korean War where he earned the rank of AGAN serving as an aerographer. After serving his country, he returned to college at the University of the State of New York but was recruited within a year by IBM Corporation where he worked for thirty-six years, wrapping up his career there as a Senior Support Specialist.
Ron enjoyed a variety of hobbies from wood-working to horticulture, but he also shared his time with various clubs and service organizations. He spent countless hours volunteering with the Leesburg Senior Center, the Loudoun County Animal Shelter and the Loudoun Library Foundation. He was an active member of the Leesburg Lions Club and Leesburg Presbyterian Church and served for twenty-one years on the Leesburg Police Citizen’s Support Team.
Ronald Leetch’s greatest accomplishment, however, was the family he and wife of sixty-six years, Patricia Green Leetch, began creating in 1958. Their love, support and determination to raise four capable, determined and responsible women were the memories that Dad most cherished to his final day. Ron will be lovingly remembered by his entire family: Laura and Craig Damewood [Chris and Airynee Damewood (Brightwell and Asa), Brian and Catherine Damewood (Penelope and Henry), Julia and Michael Solberg (Isla and Elodie)]; Beth Leetch; Amy and Jim McIntosh [Logan and Lindsey McIntosh (Lainey and Liliana), Jared McIntosh, Ben McIntosh]; Wendy Miller.
A memorial service will be held Friday, April 19, 2024, at 11:00AM followed by a light lunch and sharing of memories at Catoctin Presbyterian Church, 15565 High Street in Waterford, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the Leesburg Lions Club, would be appreciated.
PO Box is 1150, 25 Catoctin Circle SE, Leesburg VA. 20175
