Ronald Glynn Roy's Obituary
Ronald Glynn Roy passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, in Martinsburg, WV, at the age of 89. Born in Abbeville, MS on September 9,1936, where he grew up on his family’s cotton farm. Ron joined the United States Army, in Oxford, Mississippi, in 1957 and continued his service with the United States Air Force from 1958-1967, Airman First Class. Upon his return to the United States, he started working for the Department of the Navy, where he would travel extensively throughout the world. In 1970 Ron transferred his employment to the FAA Air Traffic Control Center in Leesburg, VA. Ron would also start family-owned business, The Green Dragon, Sterling, Va, The Hawaiian Restaurant, Leesburg, VA. Later he would transfer to the FAA Center in Atlantic City, NJ and it would not take him long before he joined Cedar Creek Brewery and Restaurant, as Brewmaster, creating his “famous” Dancing Bandit Brown Ale. In 2003 Ron moved back to Leesburg, VA where he could be close to family and help in family business, The Mandarin Express, Leesburg, VA. Ron stayed busy whether it was delivering food or helping others, he was a jack of all trades. In 2007 Ron would become a Loudoun County School Bus driver. He loved this journey and built many relationships, serving with pride and joy. Ron left a smile on every person who had the honor of knowing him. Ron was a long-time member of the Leesburg Moose Lodge 1041. Durning his free time, Ron enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Ron loved to tell stories of all his adventures and making jokes.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Glynn Roy, his sister Wanda Duncan, his brother Jerry Roy, and his beloved son Robert A Roy. He is survived by his sister, Virginia Bennett, Diana Roy, his daughter, Angie Davis, his son-in-law, Mark Davis, his son, John Roy, his grandchildren, Kyle, Jessica, Riley, Reid, Cadence, and Kaya, his great-grandchildren, Sterling and Everleigh, and his many family members, who he adored
Celebration of Life will be held on September 12, 2026, 3pm – 5pm, Leesburg Moose Lodge, 43 Catoctin Cir SE, Leesburg, VA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to one of his charities, Jay Walkers, Tree of Life, and St. Jude’s.
Ron would like to be remembered through Jesus Christ! He walked this earth as a humble and kind person, who loved with all his heart and taught us to love.
