Rosemarie “Rose” Malacarne, 80, of Ashburn, VA, passed away on March 15, 2011.
Daughter of the late James and Mary Cavanaugh (of Forty Fort, PA).
Beloved wife of Albert Malacarne, beloved mother of 5 children, 11 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren: Son, Charles, and wife, Heidi, of Leesburg, VA; Grandmother of Matthew, Alison; Son, Anthony, and wife, Lauri, of Ashburn, VA Grandmother of Megan, Kelly;Daughter, Elizabeth Castro, and husband, Thomas, of Ashburn, VA Grandmother of Christina, Michael Great-grandmother to John, Julian; Daughter, Suzanne Iasiello, and husband, Anthony, of Knoxville, TN, Grandmother of Ravin, Brittney;Son, Arthur, and wife, Melissa, of Round Hill, VA Grandmother of Andrew, Molly, Benjamin;friend, counselor, and advisor to many.
Rosemarie was the sister of Vincent Cavanaugh of New Braunsels, TX, Edward Cavanaugh of Ruidoso, New Mexico, and the late William Cavanaugh.
Practiced as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist for many years, most recently at Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg, PA
Education and training at Kings County Hospital School of Nursing, Brooklyn, NY and residency at Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown, PA
Her kindness, compassion, and wit was lovingly and unselfishly dispensed
to anyone who needed it.
We will remember her open door, open arms, and the positive impact she made on our lives.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Ashburn, VA at 11am on Saturday, March 19, 2011.
Interment will be held privately at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
