Rosemary Theresa Fish's Obituary
Rosemary Theresa Fish passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 10th at the age of 93, surrounded by her family. She was at her home in Purcellville, Virginia and under the care of Hospice.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Jack Fish. Her siblings Patricia Hagarty of Asheville, N.C. and Donnelly Wolf of Rockville, Maryland as well as her son-in-law Michael Burke and grandson Elias LaRock. Rosemary’s survivors include her 12 children. Manus John Fish, III (Nancy) of Herndon, Theresa Grooms of Sterling, Kathleen Key of Leesburg, Mary Ann LaRock (Jim) of Gambrills MD, Eileen Baranowski (John) of Round Hill, Joan Rowe (Jack) of Hatteras Island, N.C., Peter Fish of Isabela, Puerto Rico, Rosemary Burke of McLean, Brigid Denmon (Dave) of Holly Springs, N.C., Christine Fish (Brad) of Troy, N.Y., Bernadette Ishmael (Mike) of Purcellville and Helen Fish of Herndon.
Rosemary was born in Washington, D.C. and grew up in Arlington. She attended St. Charles Catholic School in Virginia, Notre Dame High School in Washington D.C. and graduated with a degree in Health Sciences from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio Texas. Upon her graduation, she worked briefly as a dietician at Arlington Hospital before marrying the love of her life and starting their family which grew to now include 42 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and the countless others who referred to her as mom or grandma. Her loving heart didn’t stop there; she had such a tremendous desire to help children in need. As a result, she generously supported many charitable organizations over the years. The driving force for all of this was her love and devotion to God, her faith and family.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either Blue Ridge Hospice, Winchester, Virginia, or St. Joseph’s Indian School in Chamberlain South Dakota.
Friends may call at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE in Leesburg on Thursday, December 15th, 2022, from 5-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30am on Saturday, December 17th at St. John The Apostle Catholic Church in Leesburg, Virginia. Interment will follow at Columbia Gardens Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
