Rosina Lucille Messina's Obituary
Mrs. Rosina Lucille Messina, age 91 of Leesburg passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014.
Mrs. Rosina was born on November 22, 1922 in Manhattan, NY, NY. She was a daughter of the late Dominic and the late Paolina Caramanno Scarano. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, John Joseph Messina in 2012 and her siblings, Josephine Scarano, Anna Scarano and brother Simon Scarano.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved three children: Peter and wife Kathy of Sterling, VA, John J. Jr. of Honolulu, HI, son-in-law Philip Akiu, and Maggie and son-in-law, Al of Leesburg, VA. She also leaves a sister-in-law Josephine Sferrazza of East Yaphank, NY six grandchildren: Christie Petrone, Paul & Laurie Messina, Ashley, Alyssa and Anna Accardo; and two great grandchildren, Claire Petrone, and Ian Patrick Messina.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, April 24, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 10 am at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church.
Interment services will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11 am at the Mount St. Mary Cemetery, Flushing, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Messina’s memory to the American Heart Association P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216.
