Roy Seidmeyer's Obituary
It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of Roy Seidmeyer, 57, of Broadlands, VA, on March 29, 2025. A man of extraordinary character, Roy's life was defined by his unwavering dedication to family, country, and friends.
Roy leaves behind his devoted wife of 32 years, Lori, their two daughters—Jordan, Olivia, and his daughter Brittany—and his granddaughter Charlotte. He is survived by his brother Ray Seidmeyer and sister Cindy Seidmeyer.
A Southern California native, Roy attended Fresno State University, where he distinguished himself as an Army ROTC cadet and scholarship athlete. He set the university's javelin record in 1988. Following graduation, he began his exemplary military career.
Roy served our nation with honor for 21 years, including combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. His outstanding service earned him numerous medals, including the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medals (4), the Army Commendation Medal, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal (2) and many others. After retirement, he continued serving his country as a Senior Test Engineer at SAIC.
Those fortunate enough to know Roy will remember his sweet and kind nature, generosity, unwavering courage, and gentle presence. Roy's legacy of selflessness and integrity will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Roy's life will be celebrated at Arlington National Cemetery, with details to be announced.
