Rufus Applegate Campbell (age 88) born January 16th, 1935, passed away peacefully on Saturday November 25, 2023. Born and raised in Leesburg, Virginia by his parents Tunis Sr. and Nola, he lived in Loudoun County his entire life. Read Obituary
So very sorry for your loss. My father, Ken Buchanan, worked with Rufus for years at the Washington Post. Growing up, any car questions I asked my dad turned into a consultation with Rufus for an answer. When I bought my first car in 1980, we made the long trip from Dale City to Leesburg so Rufus could check to out. Coincidentally enough, my wife and I moved to Leesburg in 1999. Quite a shock to see four pictures with my dad and Rufus in the memories here. Again, my sincere condolences. (My dad passed away in August of 1996.)
We were a part of the Catoctin Circle gang and grew up with Keith and Stephen. Mr Campbell was a quiet man that loved working in his garage. I later worked with his wife Betty in the Clerks Office. RIP Mr Campbell. Beverly Grubbs Hart
As a neighbor , living on Catoctin Circle 2 houses below Rufus for several years. I remember Rufus as quiet , nice gentleman. His kids and mine grew up together...RIP Rufus
