Russell Fred Stahl's Obituary
RUSSELL FRED STAHL, 78, of Sterling, VA since 1978, died on Saturday, March 1, 2008 in Washington DC. Mr. Stahl was born November 21, 1929 in Clarks Valley, PA to the late Hilbert and Margaret Hossler Stahl. A brother, Jack Stahl and a sister , Faye Leitzel also predeceased him. He served his country is the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Stahl resided in Lamont, PA before moving to Vienna, VA in 1965. He was a Intelligence Analyst with the U.S. Government and a Republican Delegate. Mr. Stahl was a jack-of-all-trades that always enjoyed helping others and during the early 1970’s helped to build the Sterling Park Christian Church. He lived for the Lord and loved spending time with his family, hiking, Camping and Biking.
Mr. Stahl is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mrs. Alicia M. Stahl of Sterling; two children: David R. and wife Sheree Stahl of Woodbridge, VA, Lynda A. Stahl of Indian Head, MD; three sisters: June Sturm, Grace Gattney, Mary Lou Shutt all of Pennsylvania; two brothers: Claude and Benjamin Stahl of Pennsylvania; two grandchildren: Erin Stahl and Jaime Pletkze.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm on Friday March 7, 2008 at Sterling Park Christian Church, 800 E. Staunton Ave. Sterling, VA with Pastor M. Douglass Satterwhite officiating. Graveside services will follow at 2:00pm on Wednesday March 26, 2008 in Arlington National Cemetery. Friends should arrive at the administration building by 1:30pm.
Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Sterling Park Christian Church or the Cascades Bible Church 21010 South Banks St. #160 Potomac Falls, VA 20165.
