Samuel Alfred Johnston's Obituary
Samuel A. Johnston, 95, of Vienna, Virginia quietly passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2015.
Born Saturday, March 6, 1920 in Washington DC. He was the husband of the late Eugenia Hilleary Johnston.
Mr. Johnston served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a Veteran of World War II and served two enlistments. After his service, Mr. Johnston continued to serve his family through the federal government as an oceanographer until retiring the summer of 1977. Mr. Johnston and his wife lived in the Arlington and McLean areas and raised their 3 children.
He leaves his family to cherish his memory including his son, Steven Johnston, of NC, his daughters, Leslie Ann and son-in-law Robert Orr of Purcellville, VA and Linda J. Johnstone of Hamilton, VA; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Memorial services and interment will be held privately by the family at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church in McLean, Virginia, in August.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mr. Johnston's memory to the ASPCA.
