SANGEETA DESAI's Obituary
Sangeeta Desai, born August 16,1961, passed away in Great Falls, VA on July 14, 2025. She is survived by her husband Vijay, sons Ankur and Tarun, brother Samir, nieces and nephews, Ankit, Pranav, Neal, and Andrea, and granddaughter Mia.
Sangeeta was first and foremost a devoted mother who did everything to ensure that her sons grew into strong, independent, and confident men and always sought to support their growing families however she could. She was a doting grandmother to Mia, who adored her and always brought a smile to Sangeeta’s face. She was fiercely protective of her brother Samir, and his family was an extension of her own. She was happily married to Vijay for 40 years and was not just his wife, but also his best friend, advisor and confidante.
Building and maintaining deep and fulfilling human connections was critically important to Sangeeta—and her purpose. Along with being a guiding presence to her family, her evenings and weekends were routinely spent engaging with a seemingly endless network of relatives and friends — both in the US and around the world — and she was never happier than when she was deepening existing relationships and re-establishing old or lost connections. To all of them, she was a welcome voice, trusted sounding board, calming presence, patient listener, and a shoulder to cry on.
Sangeeta was also a dedicated consulting professional who spent 20 years at LMI and was actively sought out for her guidance and expertise. To both her colleagues and clients, she was an exceptional leader, cherished friend, and trusted mentor to many.
Sangeeta will be missed deeply by so many beyond her immediate family.
A celebration of Sangeeta’s life will take place at 11:00 AM on Sunday, July 20, at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, Virginia. You may also view the celebration online here.
