My memories of my dear Aunt Sally are truly endless. I remember her making the best iced tea in the world, lovingly calling me “Dernise,” and creating the most delicious meals. But what I hold closest to my heart is her beautiful voice. She sang like an angel. For as long as I can remember, she would sing the most enchanting songs to me—“When the Red, Red Robin Comes Bob Bob Bobbin’ Along,” “Mockingbird Hill,” and the especially endearing “Froggie Went a Courtin’,” to name a few.
Those songs became a gift she passed down to me, and in time, I shared them with my own children, who came to love them just as much as I did. While I will miss her deeply, it brings me comfort and joy to know that her songs—and the love behind them—will live on in my heart and in the hearts of my daughters. Until I see you again, Aunt Sally, I love you❤️
