Sara H. Symons' Obituary
Miss Sara Symons, age 58, passed away at her home on Sunday, November 11, 2012 in the care of Hospice.
Sara was born December 16, 1953, in Montevideo, Uruguay, the daughter of Richard and Helen Symons. Miss Symons received her BA in English from Mary Baldwin College and her Masters in Administrative and Supervision Pre-K to 12 from the University of Virginia. She taught first at Wilson Memorial High School in Staunton, VA and subsequently in the Loudoun County Public School system as both English and Spanish Teacher. She was a devoted and much loved teacher at Sterling MS, Blue Ridge MS, and Tuscarora HS.
Sara is survived by her brother Thomas L. Symons and sister-in-law Susan formerly of Bluemont VA, her uncle John M. Dandois of Athens TX, her uncle Dave Symons of Rich Hill, MO, and nephews Thomas L. Symons, Jr., Richard A. Symons and niece Polly E. Symons, as well as former husband Woodrow White of Dayton, VA.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Sara’s life at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, on Saturday, November 17 at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sara’s name to the North Oatlands Animal Hospital, 19275 James Monroe Highway, Leesburg, VA 20176, c/o Dr. Rickard for the care of Airedale Terriers.
