Scott Malcom Curry Harshman's Obituary
Scott Malcom Curry Harshman, 65, of Leesburg, VA, passed away suddenly on September 18, 2024. Scott was born May 29, 1959, at Loudoun Memorial Hospital. He graduated from Loudoun County High School in 1977, and went on to start his own business, Action Landscaping. He spent his life in the career of truck driving and landscaping, which he was very passionate about. Being from Leesburg and working over forty years in the business, he was a beloved member of the community known for his kind heart and generous spirit.
In his free time, Scott was working on automobiles, riding motorcycles, racing his Pontiac at the track, or spending quality time with his family and friends. He always had a smile on his face, a joke to tell, and a willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need. Scott will be remembered for his generosity, his dedication to his family, and his unwavering Faith. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Scott is survived by his mother, Anna L. Brownson; his six children, Justin Harshman (Christina), Katie Harshman Geaneas (Christopher), Emily Harshman, Travis Harshman (Amanda), Brittany Horton (Jake), Victoria Raughton (Alexander); his 11 grandchildren, Logan, Landon, Addison, Sam, Eli, Liam, Hadley, Avery, Kenslee, Kennedy, Harper; his brother, Bruce B. Brownson; and his sister, Catherine Lunsford. He was preceded in death by his adoptive grandmother, Edmonia Curry; adoptive mother, Catherine E. Curry; father, Charles B. Brownson; and his brothers, Dwight Charles Brownson and Guy David Harshman.
Scott’s family invites you to celebrate his life at a memorial service on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Loudoun Funeral Chapel in Leesburg, Virginia with Elder Alfred Archer officiating. There will be a viewing hour at 10am and service at 11am. A burial will follow immediately after in Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Scott’s honor to Boulder Crest Foundation, 33735 Snickersville Tpke, Bluemont, VA 20135 or www.bouldercrest.org/.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Brownson, Justin Harshman, Travis Harshman, Jake Horton, Alexander Raughton, Trae Sutphin, Larry Harris, and Hunter Speaks. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Payne, Calvin Speaks and Mike Cooper.
