Sharon Diane Littleton's Obituary
Sharon “Diane” Littleton, 76, of Ashburn, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at the Adler Center for Caring in Aldie, Virginia.
Born on Saturday, February 26, 1949, in Washington, D.C., Diane was the beloved daughter of the late Edgar Kemper Jones Jr. and Grace Estelle Hubbard Jones. She shared a lifelong love with her husband, George Littleton, her high school sweetheart from Marshall High School and the McLean Methodist youth group.
Diane leaves behind many to cherish her memory, including her devoted husband of 56 years, George Littleton Jr.; her beloved daughters, Noelle McCullough (Joe) and Sara Kittelson (Erik); and her dear siblings, Bonnie Myer (Larry), Pam Rose (John) and Eddie Kemper Jones Jr. (Mari). She was also a proud grandmother to four granddaughters, Abby, Emily, Kaitlyn and Rebecca, and a great-granddaughter, Isabelle, as well as a loving aunt to seven nieces and nephews, Jesse, Scarlet, Ali, Joanna, Kemper, Oliver and Sam.
Diane was known for her love of children and family, affectionately called “Spirit Fingers” or “The Baby Whisperer” for her special way with babies. A talented quilter, gardener and antique collector, Diane found joy in creativity. She was a seafood lover, always seeking out the best crab cakes and oysters. In her retirement, she could often be found at local wineries, enjoying a glass of wine and good company.
Diane devoted her life to her family, always ready for a good conversation and a warm meal. She made family dinners every evening, filling her home with warmth and love. Her strong faith guided her journey, and she shared it with several churches throughout her life, including serving as the youth group leader at Sterling UMC.
Diane’s greatest joy in life was being the best mother she could be. Despite giving her all to this endeavor, she spent many years as a skilled bookkeeper for the family construction business, balancing both responsibilities with grace and commitment.
Diane was an exemplary mother and remarkable human being. She embodied the best of qualities—unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity that could be seen in her care for her family and friends.
The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE, Leesburg, Virginia.
