Shauneequa Shauntee Jackson Gonzalez's Obituary
Shauneequa Shauntee Jackson Gonzalez, affectionately called Shaunee, age 36 of Aldie, Virginia passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, November 7, 2022. She was born Tuesday, May 6, 1986, in Bronx, New York, the daughter of the late Samuel L. Jackson and Mavis T (West) Jones.
Shaunee received her Bachelor of Art in Child Development from Spelman College in 2008, and her master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from National University in 2012. She began her teaching career at Atlanta Public Schools in 2008 as a first-grade teacher. She was named “Educator of the Year” in 2018. She continued her educational career by teaching kindergarten in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Shaunee most recently worked as a kindergarten teacher at London Towne Elementary School in Fairfax County, Virginia where she was loved by her colleagues and her students. She strived to be the best she could not only as a teacher but also as a dedicated mother and wife.
In 2018, Shauneequa married her husband, Luis in a beautiful beach front wedding witnessed by family and friends. She was so happy and beautiful with a smile from ear to ear. After getting married she knew she wanted to have kids and on April 2020 her dream came true when she had her first child, Carter and her second son Kaleb in 2022. She was so proud to be a mother, a job she did not take for granted. A responsibility she took very seriously, always wanting to make her mother proud. She treasured her husband and her boys and embraced every moment with them.
Shaunee was full of passion for life. She loved adventure, traveling, and spending time with her family. She had an amazing personality and loved to laugh. All who loved her dearly will never forget her big smile; it was like a breeze of fresh air blowing across your face. She was a voice of reason for all who came in contact with her. Shaunee was truly a phenomenal woman.
She will be missed by her loving husband Luis Gonzalez Jr.; sons: Carter J. Gonzalez and Kaleb C. Gonzalez; mother and father: Mavis and Gary Jones; grandfather: Coleman West; brothers: Deon Jones, Devante Jones and Kuran Jones; sisters: Monaia Haynes and Tiniqua Jones; and a host of relatives and friends.
Please join us in celebrating her life on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, Virginia. Visitation from 10:00-11:00 am and service between 11:00- 12:00 pm. Repass from 12:00- 2pm.
