Sheila Driscoll Rosenthal's Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Sheila D. Rosenthal (76) announce her passing after a long illness on June 23, 2018.
A native of Manhasset, NY, Sheila graduated from St. Joseph College (Emmitsburg, MD) with a Bachelor of Arts in English. After graduation, Sheila taught third grade on Long Island before becoming a mother in 1966. Sheila became the Executive Director of the Gemini Youth Orchestra in 1985, guiding the organization’s transformation from a small local music education program to one of the largest programs of its kind in NY State.
She will be fondly remembered by her children: Matthew, Elizabeth (Paul), Peter (Susan), and Thomas (Annie), grandchildren Raya, Liam and Sarah, and brothers John and Peter. Sheila was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Albert Rosenthal and her by her sister, Mary Bellamy.
A visitation will be held at Loudon Funeral Chapel 158 Catoctin Circle SE, Leesburg on Wednesday, June 27th at 10:30am to 12:30pm followed by a 2pm funeral mass at St. Theresa Catholic Church 21370 St Theresa Lane, Ashburn.
