Sheila Fullam Chamberlin's Obituary
Mrs. Sheila Fullam Chamberlin, 66 passed away on Friday, October 29, 2010, at her home near Hamilton Virginia. "Sheila had COPD."
Born Monday, May 15, 1944 in Manchester, New Hampshire, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Jay Fullam and the late Cordelia Driscoll Fullam.
Sheila was a 1961 graduate of Georgetown Visitation in Washington D.C. In her early career she worked at the National Geographic in Washington, and at Children's Hospital in Boston. She taught at and was then head of The Leesburg Presbyterian Montessori School in the mid- 1970s. During the 70's, she also played a central role in creating the Greystone Community Pool and in producing the children's Christmas plays in Waterford Virginia.
In 1980, Mrs. Chamberlin founded and served as President of Factor Learning Design in Leesburg, VA. Her company designed and delivered training for many of the nation's top corporations. She retired in 1999.
Starting out as a hobby, Sheila and her husband ran Brocante Antiques in Loudoun County from 1990 until retiring in 2005.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, John Charlton Chamberlin of Leesburg; her sister, Pat Wetsel of Cambridge, NY, her brother, Thomas Fullam of Oceanside, CA; children: Amy Gilligan of Mill River, MA, Steven and Megan Jackson of Bluemont, VA, Courtenay Chamberlin and Michael Cleary of Frederick, MD, John and Meg Chamberlin of New York, NY; 3 granddaughters: Mazie Chamberlin, Eleanor Chamberlin, Cecelia Cleary and 1 grandson, Preston Cleary; plus 9 nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Catoctin Presbyterian Church located at 15565 High St. Waterford, Virginia 20197. Interment will be held privately.
