Sigmund Heuer's Obituary
Sigmund Heuer, 87, of Leesburg, VA passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Inova Fairfax hospital after complications with Parkinson’s disease.
Born on January 24, 1927 in Paterson, NJ, he was the son of the late Rheinhold R. Heuer and Erna Schlack Heuer.
Following high school, Sigmund joined the Navy, where he served his country in World War II and in the Korean War. After his time in the service, Sigmund worked in naval air systems command in Crystal City, Virginia until his retirement in 1989. Following his retirement he enjoyed spending time horseback riding and with his dogs.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Leona Heuer; children Walt Heuer and his wife, Joy of Herndon and Cliff Heuer and his wife, Sherry of Hamilton; grandchildren Sarah, Conner, Frankie, Bradley, and Jamie.
Services will be private and inurnment will take place at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Loudoun county animal shelter, LCAS C.A.R.E. Medical Fund Loudoun County Department of Animal Services, 39820 Charles Town Pike, Waterford, VA 20197.
